SRINAGAR, October 06: A 50-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained after being struck by an e-rickshaw in the Nishat area of Srinagar on Monday evening. The pedestrian was identified as Shafiqa Bano, wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, a resident of Ishber Nishat.
Information was available with The Chenab Times that the incident occurred near Ishber Chowk on Monday evening when an e-rickshaw, bearing registration number JK01BE-5707, collided with the woman. Following the accident, she was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Hospital officials stated that her condition remained critical throughout the night. Despite intensive medical care, Shafiqa Bano succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday morning. The local police have registered a case concerning the accident and are reportedly investigating the circumstances leading to the collision. Further details are expected to be released by the authorities as the investigation progresses.
