Delhi Government Transfers 33 IAS Officers, Including Five From Former J&K Cadre

The Delhi Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 33 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers belonging to the AGMUT and DANICS cadres, with five of them having previously served in the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre. The administrative reshuffling impacts senior positions within the national capital’s governance structure.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, prominent among the transferred officers is Navin Kumar Choudhary, who has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (General Administration Department). The order also saw revised postings for Bipul Pathak and Prashant Goyal within the Delhi administration.

Bipul Pathak, a 1992-batch AGMUT cadre officer, will continue in his role as Additional Chief Secretary (Social Welfare). He has also been assigned additional responsibilities, including serving as the Managing Director of the Delhi SC/ST/OBC Finance and Development Corporation and the Delhi Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and Handicapped Financial and Development Corporation. Further, Pathak will hold additional charges as Additional Chief Secretary (SC/ST/OBC), Additional Chief Secretary (Women and Child Development), and Financial Commissioner.

Prashant Goyal, an IAS officer from the 1993-batch of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (Power). His portfolio also includes additional responsibilities as Chairman and Managing Director of the Delhi Financial Corporation and the Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation. He will additionally serve as Additional Chief Secretary (Administrative Reforms) and Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare).

Navin Kumar Choudhary, a 1994-batch AGMUT cadre officer, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary (General Administration Department). Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Additional Chief Secretary (Irrigation and Flood Control), while also holding the charge of the General Administration Department. Choudhary will retain his additional charge of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department and assume further responsibility as Additional Chief Secretary (Food and Civil Supplies).

The government order also designates new roles for officers who were awaiting postings. Prasanna Ramaswamy G, a 2010-batch AGMUT cadre officer, has been appointed as Additional Commissioner in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Additionally, Swati Sheemar, a 2023-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, has been appointed Additional Director (Education). She succeeds Patil Pranjal Lahensingh, who has now been transferred to the Women and Child Development Department.

The comprehensive order impacts a total of 33 IAS officers from the AGMUT and DANICS cadres. Information regarding the specific new postings for all 33 officers was not immediately available.
