J&k Police held a function in Dharna Chowk Mendhar which was presided over by
SSP Poonch Sh. Ramesh Angral-JKPS, to pay rich tributes to Shaheed Babu Ram who laid down his life for the sake of nation at Pantha Chowk Srinagar on 30.08.2020 while fighting with militants. A large Number of respectables of the area, media fraternity, Army officers, Panches, Sarpanches, family of martyr and prominent personalities from BDC were present on the occasion. The Speakers highlighted the deeds of Shaheed Babu Ram in his area.
The SSP Poonch in his speech highlights the services rendered by various martyrs of Mendhar particularly of ASI Babu Ram. In last SDPO Mendhar Sh. Zaheer Abbas Jafri Proposed to dedicate Dharna Chowk to Shaheed Babu Ram which was welcomed by participants by offering cheers. Then the said Chowk was renamed as Shaheed Babu Ram Chowk and the sign Board was placed by the SSP Poonch.
