The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah observed World Day Against Child Labour by organizing a webinar here today. Secretary DLSA ( Sub Judge ) Mudassir Farooq , General Manager DIC Doda Kahlid Akhter , Assistant Labour Commissioner Doda , Principal GDC Bhaderwah and Social Welfare Officer Doda also participated in the webinar and spoke on the importance of the day and highlighted the importance of education for the progress of India. General Manager DIC Doda Khalid Akhter said children were being engaged for work, especially in dhabas, restaurants and industries. He asked the business community to shoulder the social responsibility and eradicate child labour, which would help in holistic growth of the city and the country and also highlighted the various government schemes for childrens.
Resource Person Advocate Mohd Majid Malik informed that Article 24 of the Indian constitution state that no child below the age of 14 years shall be employed in work in any factory or mine or employed in any hazardous employment and also threw light on Article 21 A which includes that state shall provide free and compulsory education to all children’s of the age 6 to 14 years . Advocate Majid Malik also threw light on The Child Labour ( Prohibition and regularization ) Act of 1986 and said that in year 2002 the International Labour Organization launched world day against child labour and all should take steps to eradicate this social evil of child labour .He also informed that Covid 19 impact and crisis might push vulnerable children’s into the child labour .
