In a generous gesture, the Indian army came to the aid of Itfaq Ahmed, whose kutcha house on a hilltop in Mendhar’s Nakka Manjhari village was destroyed by heavy rains last weekend. His entire family became homeless, and they were in a desperate situation with no one to turn to for help. The Indian army (RR) reacted quickly to this news and dispatched a relief party to his home, where they handed over rations and other necessities to his family. They also set up a makeshift tent for his family while his house was being renovated.

For the past 72 hours, heavy rain in the Mendhar region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district has severely disrupted normal life in several locations. Many homes in Mendhar’s low-lying areas have been damaged, and power and traffic have been disrupted.
