
SRINAGAR — A Power Development Department (PDD) employee, who fell from an electric pole in Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Saturday, lost his battle with life after remaining in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital for 11 days.
An official said that the lineman Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Yousmarg in Budgam district, fell from an electric pole while restoring electricity in Sikloo village of Pulwama district 11 days ago.
“Bashir was rushed to nearby hospital in critical condition from where he was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment. At SMHS ICU, he was battling for life since past 11 days but breathed his last early morning on Saturday,” the official told news agency Kashmir News Observer (CT).
He said that Bashir is a father of six children including five daughters and now there is none to take care of his family. “He was laid to rest at Yousmarg graveyard,” said a relative of the deceased.
