In a significant political development, a group of leaders and public representatives who were affiliated with the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) in Doda’s Kahara has announced their decision to join the Indian National Congress in the presence of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani. Meanwhile, the Congress leader from Ghat, Sheikh Riyaz, was also present on this occasion.
“The decision of these prominent DPAP leaders to align themselves with the Congress party underscores the party’s inclusive and progressive agenda as the primary reason for their move. These leaders, renowned for their grassroots support and active involvement in local governance, have expressed confidence in the leadership of Mr. Vikar Rasool Wani and his commitment to the welfare and development of the region,” a Congress leader said.
The event witnessed a substantial gathering of party workers and supporters, who were eager to witness this momentous occasion. The leaders, who have now joined the Congress party, have been praised for their dedication and service to the people of Doda’s Kahara by the party. He emphasized the Congress party’s commitment to working towards the betterment of the community and assured the new members of equal participation and representation within the party’s framework.

The prominent leaders who have joined the Congress party are Zaffrullah Magray (Sarpanch Malanoo) DPAP District General Secretary, Haji Rehmtullah RTD TSO (Sarpanch Goila) Block Vice President DPAP, along with 6 Ward Members, Haji Hussain Sarpanch Batogra (Block VP DPAP), Annu Devi Sarpanch Dharuth along with all 7 Ward members, Gh Haider Ward Member, Khair Deen Magray joint Secretary DPAP block Kahara, Mansoor Magray joint Secretary DPAP block Kahara, Zubair Ahmed Member DPAP, Farooq Ahmed Dar Ward Member (DPAP), Daya Singh (DPAP), and Jaffer Hussain Naib Sarpanch DPAP Leader.
