In line with the recent order issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar (ADC Kishtwar), the Tehsildar Drabshalla, Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, has taken action to implement the directive. As per order No. DM/K/23/762-A and B dated July 3, 2023, both Madrassa Taleemul Quran Tantani Saroor and Madrassa Ashraful Uloom RPI Academy Tatani Saroor have been sealed by the authorities.
Reports from Excelsior revealed that the action was taken as a part of Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) measures to address Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) violations.
At 10:00 a.m. today, Tahsildar Drabshalla, accompanied by the concerned officials, arrived at the premises of the two madrasas to carry out the order issued by the ADC Kishtwar. The officials proceeded to seal both madrasas, effectively taking over their possession.
This development comes after the heads of the respective madrasas disputed their alleged affiliation with the Maulana Ali Mia Nadwi Educational Charitable Trust (MAMNECT) mentioned in the order. They insisted that their madrasas were operated under their own registered trusts and relied solely on public donations in the Kishtwar District and its neighboring areas, as reported by The Chenab Times earlier.
According to reports from Excelsior, SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmed Poswal, clarified that the sealing of the two madrasas, which were run by a Jammu-based group, was part of the wider crackdown on illegal financial transactions. He further mentioned that no arrests have been made as the action was initiated by the civil administration.
The sealing of the madrasas based on FCRA violations has intensified the ongoing controversy, raising concerns about the impact on the education of the students enrolled in these institutions. Stakeholders continue to closely monitor the situation, awaiting further updates on any significant developments or legal proceedings related to the sealed madrasas.
As this latest development unfolds, concerned stakeholders await further updates on the matter. The Chenab Times will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide timely coverage of any significant developments or legal proceedings related to the sealed madrasas.
