A chilling incident unfolded on Sunday evening in Mohalla Babujai of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh as Sarerah Shoaib, known locally as Shabbu, became the victim of a brutal attack. Shabbu, 28, was mercilessly shot in the head by an unidentified assailant riding a motorbike, while he was carrying his young daughter on his shoulder. The incident, captured in stark detail by CCTV footage, has sent shockwaves through the community and prompted a frenzied hunt for the perpetrators.
At approximately 7:30 pm, tragedy struck as Shabbu, accompanied by his wife and daughter, was walking home. The attacker, who appeared brazen and calculated, approached Shabbu from the front on a motorbike. Swiftly drawing a concealed firearm, the assailant unleashed a point-blank shot, leaving Shabbu sprawled on the road, his daughter helpless beside him. The distressing footage, now circulating widely on social media, reveals three assailants, their identities obscured beneath helmets, participating in the gruesome act.
The local police, relentless in their pursuit of justice, have been unable to discern the license plate of the getaway motorbike from the captured footage. Law enforcement agencies are now engaged in an intensive investigation, determined to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. City CO BS Veer Kumar affirmed the commitment of the authorities to unveil the culprits behind this heinous crime and expressed optimism about their swift apprehension, Amar Ujala reported. On the orders of the SP, four teams have been formed to nab the accused.
Shabbu’s presence in Shahjahanpur was brief, as he had relocated to Amritsar, Punjab over a decade ago. Returning home only a day before the tragedy, Shabbu’s father, Nafees Ahmed, operates a mobile shop in the vicinity. The incident has left the tight-knit locality shattered, mourning the untimely loss of a cherished member. The suddenness and brutality of the attack, which occurred just a stone’s throw away from the family residence, have left them grappling with profound grief.
Following initial treatment in Bareilly, Shabbu was transferred to a hospital in Delhi late Sunday night due to the severity of his injuries. As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains firmly on identifying the assailants responsible for this senseless act, one that has torn apart a family and left a community seeking answers.
Shoaib’s family was following behind; his family had also arrived after the incident. On the other hand, SP Ashok Kumar Meena stated that after reaching the scene, he obtained information about the incident from the relatives of the injured. The injured individual has been admitted to the hospital and subsequently referred to Bareilly. The family has denied any involvement in a rivalry. Four teams have been assembled to search for the suspects.
