A devastating fire that erupted in a cluster of temporary huts in the remote Hamer Gali Dhok of Bingara village in Ramban district on Wednesday evening has left three individuals dead, including a mother and her two daughters. The incident has also resulted in injuries to two other individuals, according to officials.
The blaze, which rapidly engulfed the huts, proved fatal for Najma Begum, aged 25, and her two daughters, Iqra Banoo, aged 2, and Assma Banoo, aged 6. The victims were tragically unable to escape the flames, as the fire spread swiftly, trapping them within the remote area.
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene, with police officers and emergency personnel working relentlessly to extinguish the fire. Despite their efforts, the three victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
In the wake of the tragedy, two individuals have been identified as survivors of the blaze. Ibrahim, aged 35, and Mirja Begum, aged 55, sustained critical injuries and were immediately transported to the PHC Ukheral medical facility for urgent medical attention. Authorities have yet to confirm the extent of their injuries or their current condition.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the exact cause of the fire. The blaze’s origin and the circumstances leading up to the tragic event remain under scrutiny.
Mohita Sharma, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, took to social media to confirm the incident. In a tweet, she conveyed her condolences and reported on the details of the incident. “INCIDENT: Three temporary huts have caught fire in village Bingara at Hammer Dhok. 3 persons have died and 2 in critical condition. Shifted to PHC Ukheral. Police party onspot,” read her tweet.

The victims were identified as Najma Begum, wife of Ibrahim, aged 25, Iqra Banoo, daughter of Ibrahim, aged 2, and Assma Banoo, daughter of Ibrahim, aged 6. The injured survivors have been identified as Ibrahim, son of Bobiya, aged 35, and Mirja Begum, wife of Noorani, aged 55.
