DC Doda Pays Surprise Visit to Premnagar and Thathri, Suspends Health Officials for Unauthorised Absence

Doda – District Development Commissioner (DDC) Vishesh Mahajan conducted a surprise visit to the regions of Premnagar and Thathri in the Doda district, underlining the administration’s commitment to ensuring efficient public service delivery and maintaining law and order.

During his unannounced visit, DDC Vishesh Mahajan meticulously reviewed the operations and service delivery in government offices, focusing on PHC Premnagar. Two health employees were found absent without authorization during office hours. In response, DDC Mahajan promptly directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Doda to suspend the errant officials and initiate an immediate inquiry.

In addition to addressing personnel matters, DDC Mahajan inspected the Doda-Kishtwar highway and newly auctioned mining blocks. He urged the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the executing agency for the Doda-Kishtwar highway project, to expedite the work while upholding quality standards. The improvement of this critical transportation route is essential for the residents of Doda and Kishtwar, as well as commuters relying on it as an alternate route to the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

Mahajan also visited mining sites to ensure that mineral extraction adhered to the stipulated terms and conditions. He emphasized the importance of monitoring illegal mining activities and safeguarding the environment, preventing water pollution, and preserving natural vegetation and fauna.

In a bid to ensure the seamless operation of government offices, DDC Mahajan visited the Tehsil office complex and BMO office complex in Thathri. His presence aimed to verify staff attendance and confirm the proper functioning of departments responsible for public services.
