At least 19 Palestinians were injured late Sunday following clashes with Israeli forces in the Bab Al-Amud area, Damascus Gate, in occupied Jerusalem City, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
Four of the injured were sent to the hospital, while the others were treated on the spot, according to the society’s press release.
Hundreds of Palestinian teens were shot by Israeli soldiers stationed in the area.
The incidents occurred just hours after Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid entered the district backed by police personnel.
Israel beefs up its presence in Jerusalem and the West Bank, as well as the contact lines, as it announces regional and international contacts to avoid escalation.
Furthermore, Israeli officials continue to make inflammatory tours of Jerusalem, and Israeli forces continue to kill and imprison Palestinians.
