L.G. Manoj Sinha visited National Youth Festival

Leutinent Governor Manoj Sinha visited National youth Festival organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India at Teachers Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

Sinha met with young and blooming artists who displayed elegant painting arts. LG appreciated and encouraged all the participants.

While talking to media, a young Artist Sulinder Parihar Sarazi said, “There is plethora of talent in our Jammu and Kashmir whether it is painting, Sketching, Graphic designing, Digital Art etc but the only thing that is lagging is opportunities. Our Jammu and Kashmir’s youth gets less opportunities but National Youth Festival is providing ample opportunities for every kind of talent.”

“I request LG to provide better fecilities to our local artists and they will excel India and World,” he added.

Speaking at the 24th National Youth Festival at Teachers Bhawan in Jammu, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Lieutenant Governor said that the aim of the programme is to provide a platform to bring the youth of the country together, give them opportunities to showcase their talents in various activities and promote the spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood among them.

“The National Youth Festival is not any other programme, but rather a festival in my opinion. The youth is a major driving force of a nation. It is to acknowledge this force, that we celebrate the National Youth Day,” Sinha further said.

He added that “the youth of Jammu and Kashmir needs opportunities to showcase their capabilities. The union territory government provides handholding to the talented youth of J&K for the promotion of their talent at the national and international level.”

Mr. Sinha flagged off a batch of girls’ contingent for a 15-day ski course and training to be conducted at the famous Gulmarg hill resort in north Kashmir.

A total of 600 budding skiers, both boys and girls, would be trained under Olympian Gul Mustafa and other experienced coaches and trainers in a two-and-a-half-month-long programme. Interacting with the trainee skiers, the Lt. Governor asked the youth to grab opportunities provided by the administration and positively transform their energies in the right direction.
