Doda bus stand, a place of rot and filth

Doda bus stand, a place of rot and flith

Every day thousands of commuters from far flung areas head to district headquarters Doda for medical treatment and various jobs in government offices, but here they have to wander around the government offices as well as the bus stand because no Vehicles plying on the routes of these far flung areas are found by searching for them for a long time, and finally after many hours of hard work they sometimes get a vehicle otherwise they have to stay there bearing all the expenses.

The bus stand in the middle of Doda town is less used for vehicles and more for business, making it difficult for passenger vehicles arriving in Doda from different areas to find parking space and passengers also face difficulties.

In addition, piles of garbage play an important role in aggravating the problems of the passengers, due to the unbearable stench arising from the garbage dumps, passengers often fall ill as soon as they reach home.

Drivers and passengers from different areas told Chenab Times that they did not understand whether the bus stop was built for parking vehicles or for leisure of stray animals especially dogs.

Another person, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that due to the stubbornness of local shopkeepers and hawkers, the system has deteriorated and instead of passenger vehicles, wheelbarrows, rickshaws and shopkeepers’ belongings are scattered everywhere, due to which passenger vehicles coming from different areas do not get any parking space at all.
