Schools re-opening: DDC Doda reviews the arrangements of Education department

Dedicates 2021 as an Year of Education for District Doda

Stresses for adherence of Covid-19 protocols in letter and spirit

All the educational institutions in District Doda alongwith winter zone schools of Jammu and Kashmir UT shall reopen from March 1, 2021 after long span of one year of COVID 19 restrictions.

In this regard DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode today convened a meeting of CEO Doda and all the ZEOs and ZEPOs of the District.

In the meeting, the DDC mentioned that all the schools, shall be allowed to open from 1st of March with observance of strict COVID-19 SOPs, issued by the Union Ministry of Health as well as department of school education of the J&K government.

DDC directed the concerned to ensure proper sanitisation and cleanliness of the school before one week of the day fixed for opening of the school and establish local level committees comprising of parents, VEC, PRIs and other prominent members of society for monitoring and support of the schools.

He also urged that wearing of face mask, maintaining social distance, sanitization of hands and frequent washing of hands shall be strictly followed in all educational institutes.

Chief Agriculture officer Doda has been assigned the task of sanitization of schools which were made quarantine centres by the administration.

Further SDMs and Tehsildars have been directed to ensure the cleanliness and sanitization of schools by the heads of the institutes and are directed to visit the schools of their jurisdictions well before the reopening.

DDC has also directed CEO Doda to submit a list of those schools which got damaged due to recent earthquake and also report of their safety for the students.

Meanwhile DDC also informed the meeting that District Administration is going to kickstart the second phase of the Zimedari-Ek Ehsaas initiative and in the second level a separate web portal is being designed in which all the heads of the Govt school’s shall participate and submit the details as per the already defined 100 parameters on the portal.

The DDC said that in the last year the students across the district had faced lot of crunch in their education by not attending the regular classwork due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The DDC exhorted all the concerned to be on toes so that the gap of the classroom teaching across the district shall be filled with utmost sincerity, besides said that the district administration is completely dedicating this entire year as an year of education.
