AD Doda visits Handloom Centres & Units in Doda District

Assistant Director Handloom Development Department, Doda Dr Rahul Sharma-KAS visited various Handloom Centres and Handloom Industrial Cooperatives Societies estblished by the department. He inspected handloom weaving training centre pranoo and interacted with trainees and briefed them about the importance of training of handloom education and activities.

He also visited at Chandra Handloom Industrial Cooperative Ltd Dandi-Duggi and newly proposed Ashapati Handloom Industrial Coopeartive Ltd Buttla Bhaderwah established by the handloom department. He interacted with weavers of cooperatives societies during which he was briefed about the dificulties facing by the running units in doda district. He assured the weavers that he would look into the issues concerning growth and expansion of handloom activities and assured for full support by the department in strengthen and build up business ecosystem for artisans and weavers in the district. They also discussed marketing intitatives that can be taken promotion of handloom products. He assured them that the department will provide them every possible help in sponsoring their handloom products in the exhibitions or fair going to be held with in the UT or outside the UT.
