Around 1.40 a.m. on Sunday, at least two blasts were reported from the technical area of Jammu airport, prompting the dispatch of a bomb disposal squad and a forensic team, according to officials.
According to sources at local news agency the Kashmir News Observer, the Indian Air Force’s Media Coordination Centre (IAF—MCC) informed the base of the incident. During the initial assessment, no major damage was discovered.
Lt Col Devender Anand, a defence spokesperson based in Jammu, confirmed the explosion.
He said, “An explosion was reported inside Air Force Station Jammu. No one has been injured, and no equipment has been damaged.”
Investigation is on and further details are awaited,” he added. The airport in Jammu is not a civil airport.
