Officials said the body of a mentally ill person was found beneath a bridge in Poonch district on Saturday.
According to them, the body of the man, who used to wander around the area, was spotted by a passerby who alerted the authorities.
Accordingly, the body was recovered on the banks of the river below the Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge in Poonch at around 8:30 a.m. and taken into custody by police.
The body was taken to Poonch District Hospital.
Station House Officer Poonch S D Singh confirmed it to Kashmir’s news agency GNS, saying the person was mentally ill and used to wander around the area.
