Arrangements for I-Day celebrations discussed at Doda

Dr R K Bharti, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda, chaired a meeting today at the DC office Doda’s Conference Hall to discuss the Independence Day celebrations.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made well in advance of the main function, which will be held at Sports Stadium Doda, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the tricolour and salute at the March Past Parade.

The march past will feature contingents from the J&K Police, IRP, CRPF, FPF, SSB, Senior and Junior NCC wings, and the District Police Band.

Similarly, it was decided that the Cultural Department would prepare no more than 3 to 4 cultural items for the Independence Day celebration, and ADC directed the concerned to ensure that a small group of people would participate in one cultural item.

Regarding tableaus, the ADC instructed all departments to meticulously prepare their tableaus in accordance with previous practise, as well as to ensure that tableaus highlight their department’s main activity.

It was also decided that during the programme, all of the Covid-19 SOPs would be followed, and that the Health Department would set up Covid counters with hand sanitizers at the venue.

The ADC also directed all departments to submit the names of officials who have excelled in their respective fields to the screening committee so that the felicitation trophies can be made available by the concerned authorities well in advance.

The ADC also told the officers that they needed to work together closely. During the Independence Day celebrations, strict adherence to the Covid-19 protocol was emphasised.

SP Bhaderwah, Commandant IRP, Dy Commandant, PO ICDS, CPO, GM DIC, ACD Doda, CMO, CEO, DIO, and other key officials from the Civil/Police administration and Para Military forces attended the meeting.
