Unknown gunmen killed a civilian in the Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Friday evening.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a civilian identified as Javaid Ahmad Malik, a resident of Lurgam village in Tral, according to the news agency Kashmir News Observer.
Malik was rushed to the SDH Tral for treatment, where doctors declared him dead, according to the report. Locals claim that Javaid is the father of two children.
A police official confirmed the incident and stated that the area had been cordoned off in order to apprehend the perpetrators.
