On the directives of District Development Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma, a massive surprise inspection was conducted today in the offices of several departments throughout the district.
The Divisional Administration had also directed such inspections throughout the division in order to address absenteeism and tardiness.
Five separate teams led by DC Doda Vikas Sharma, ADDC Mohd Hanief Malik, ADC Doda Dr R K Bharti, CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, and ACR Doda Sanjeev Kumar visited various offices within the Doda headquarters to verify employee presence. Similarly, SDMs and Tehsildars paid surprise visits to their jurisdiction’s offices and submitted thorough reports to the office of DDC Doda.
According to reports, 114 government personnel were found to be absent from their regular tasks. Additionally, during the inspection, it was discovered that a few offices do not maintain an attendance and leave account register.
According to an order issued by DDC Doda, absent personnel must explain their reason for being absent from their authorised tasks to DDC Doda within two days. Additionally, the salary for August will be withheld from these absentees until a justifiable response is submitted to the authorities (DDC Doda).
The DDC inspected offices of Chief Education Officer Doda, Chief Medical Office Doda, Dy CMO office, Offices of DIC, Office of PO ICDS, while ADDC Doda, ADC, CPO and ACR doda alongwith their staff inspected various other public offices established in the Doda town (District headquarter) which includes Agriculture department, CAHO, GP Fund office, PHE, ALC, ADMO, Cultural department, Social Welfare, Sericulture, Floriculture, R&B, PDD, PHE, besides other departments.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, the surprise inspection was performed to ensure office punctuality and discipline. Additionally, he stated that disciplinary action would be taken against officers/employees who were found to be absent from their duties and unable to provide a sufficient response within the allotted period.
The DC also underlined the importance of officials from all departments being punctual in their offices, stating that any slack in terms of discipline or timeliness would not be accepted in the future.
