Priyanka Gandhi “Isn’t Afraid, True Congressi”: Rahul Gandhi On Arrest

[ad_1]

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s detention in Uttar Pradesh will not deter “nonviolent protests for truth,” according to her brother Rahul Gandhi, who described her as “fearless” and a “true Congressi” in a tweet today. The opposition has targeted the BJP administration in UP and at the centre for the third day in a row over the violence that erupted in Lakhimpur district, approximately 440 kilometres from Delhi, after eight persons, including four farmers, were allegedly run over by a car. The only individual named in the murder case is Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra.

“Jise hirasat me rakha hai, woh darti nahi – sacchi Congressi hai. Haar nahi manegi. Satyagrah rukega nahi. (She who has been kept in arrest, she doesn’t fear (anything) – she is a true Congressi. She won’t give up),” Mr Gandhi, 51, tweeted in Hindi.

Ms Vadra, 49, said she was arrested on her way to the UP district on Monday.

She stated again today, while speaking to NDTV, that she was “being kept illegally.” She further stated that she was detained while no action was taken against the Union Minister’s son, who is a defendant.

She also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he will visit the district after the violence on Sunday, where travel and the usage of mobile internet were restricted. “Detain me for six months or six years…. no issue,” she remarked, referring to the Uttar Pradesh administration.

“I have been detained in detention for more than 28 hours without an order or FIR,” Ms Vadra stated in a tweet.

She also posted a video:

Several opposition leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav, were imprisoned on Monday as a result of huge rallies in Lakhimpur.

Farmers demonstrated in Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi, demanding action against the Minister’s son.

Mr Mishra, on the other hand, has denied being in the car that reportedly killed eight people. “I wasn’t in the car at the time. A wrestling tournament was being organised at my paternal house in Banwirpur village. I was there from the morning till the end of the event,” he told NDTV.
