The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sought harsh punishment on Monday for those involved for recent targeted killings in the Valley, including those of minorities.
Ghulam Nabi Lone Hajura, a senior PDP leader and the party’s general secretary, said the targeted killings of minorities are intended to destroy the state’s secular fabric, and urged everyone to stick together to defeat the anti-peace groups’ sinister plans.
“We strongly condemn the targeted killing of minorities. Though it is unclear on whose orders these killings occur, Hanujra told reporters after visiting the home of slain school principal Supinder Koul in Srinagar. “We demand stern punishment against anyone responsible for killing people from the minority community,” Hanujra said.
Hanjura also reassured Kashmir’s minorities that their interests will always be protected, and that anyone who tries to hurt them in any manner will suffer public fury.
“The selective targeting of minorities reflects the government’s inability to safeguard them in Jammu and Kashmir, and the same is the result of the unlawful decision to repeal Articles 370 and 35A on August 5, 2019,” the PDP leader added.
“I personally paid a visit to the slain school principal’s home and expressed my condolences to her family.” “The terrible killing of a female teacher and others by gunmen is an attack on humanity that must be strongly condemned,” he stated.
