Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam won the hearts of cricket fans around the globe with a heartfelt reply to an eight-year-old fan of the team.

Babar’s reply to the ‘future captain’ has gone viral on social media with netizens showering praise on Babar for his tweet.

The eight-year-old fan by the name of Mohammad Haroon Suria wrote a touching letter to the Pakistan team after their fairytale run at 2021 T20 WC came to an end in the semi-final.

The Men in Green were defeated by Australia by five wickets in a thrilling encounter.




The eight-year-old fan wrote a hand-written letter addressed to Babar and promised to captain Pakistan one day and lead them to the finals. The fan wrote, “Dear Pakistani team.

I am very proud, I love you Babar Azam. Well played everyone… nice batting, bowling. Yesterday in the match, I felt proud that Pakistan is going to win.

Then in the middle, I was nervous and in the end I was frightened.

He added “Inshallah, in the future, we will win be captain and I will make sure to invite all of your team to my team. We will go the finals.”

The eight-year-old asked Babar for the entire squad’s autograph. “Dear Babar, Please on a paper, can you write all your team members signatures and send them to my house please,” said the young fan.

After the letter was tweeted by a journalist, Pakistan captain Babar Azam replied to it on social media and won the hearts of the cricket community by calling the fan ‘future captain.’

Babar wrote, “Dear Mohammad Haroon Suria, Salam. Thank you for such a kind letter for us, champion. I ABSOLUTELY believe in you and you can achieve anything with your focus, belief, and hard work. You will get your autographs but I can’t wait to get YOUR autograph future Captain.”

As things stand, Babar is the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 303 runs in six games. He scored four half-centuries in the tournament which is the joint-most in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
