Four died on the spot while one succumbed in PHC Rajgarh. Two were injured in a tragic accident near Chuchattar in Tehsil Rajgarh today, as confirmed by The Chenab Times. Those who died in the accident included the driver of a Tempo Traveler and four women.
Immediately after receiving information, the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam, who had left Chuchattar after performing the funeral of ASI J&K Police, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, reached the site of the accident. He also visited PHC Rajgarh to enquire about the injured persons who were later shifted to District Hospital Ramban.
Identification of deceased and injured
As per details available with The Chenab Times, the injured persons were identified as Mohd Yaseen son of Mushtaq Ahmed resident of Chuchater Kashtigarh, Khalid Iqbal son of Mohd Iqbal resident of Zadaan Kashtigarh and the deceased were identified as Driver Sajad Ahmed son of Abdul Hamid Khan resident of Chakka Mansor Kashtigarh Died at PHC Rajgarh, while Rubeena Begum wife of Javeed Iqbal resident of Chuchater, Rashida Begum wife of Mushtaq Ahmed resident of Chuchater, Amna Begum wife of Abdul Rehman Wani resident of Chuchater, Asia Banoo daughter of Mohd Ibrahim Wani resident of Chuchater, died on spot.
Relief
The DC expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members for their irreparable loss and promised Rs. 30000 in financial assistance to those who died in the accident and Rs. 25000 to those who were injured.
The DC urged drivers to exercise extreme caution on the Chanderkot-Rajgarh-Chuchattar road and stated that he will submit a proposal for the installation of crash barriers and parapets to protect the lives of those travelling on it.
