Adv Mohd Majid Malik who is spearheading the campaign for Bhaderwah district expressed resentment over the ignorance of Bhaderwah which have not been included in the list of film tourist spots.
Addressing media persons here, Adv Mohd Majid Malik , said that Bhaderwah is only famous and emerging tourist destination of Jammu city , despite being near the Jammu city , have not been included in the list prepared by the government and Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department for film tourism spots / destinations, seeking modification. Despite this, the government has kept Bhaderwah out of the list, while five spots are identified in Jammu and Udhampur districts have been included in this list, which proves that there is a big mistake on the part of administration while preparing the list, he added .
Malik also informed that recently Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education department sanctioned Ph.D departments / courses and also identified / approved Graduate courses in agriculture , dairy farming , tourism , forest and poultry farming for some colleges of Jammu but again ignored Govt Degree College Bhaderwah which is lonely senior college in whole Jammu region and was established in 1954 . He said there is potential of tourism and education in Bhaderwah and alleged junior colleges are upgraded and Bhaderwah college and University was totally ignored and all political parties and their leaders from Bhaderwah are mum and now people of Bhaderwah should themselves fight for their cause.
Mohd Majid Malik appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and issue directions to Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department and Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department to include Bhaderwah in the list of approval of new projects which are rightfully entitled to Bhaderwah area keeping in view the qualification and criteria . He further appealed to the Lt Governor to immediately issue a new list for Ph.D streams and courses and add Bhaderwah in film tourism spots.
He also demanded a full fledged District for Bhaderwah and urged the LG to strongly plead the case of tourist destination Padri with HP govt as Padri is a part and parcel of Bhaderwah and in GT map of forest Padri is also part of Bhaderwah and before the 1947 JK govt to till date issue form 3 / grazing licensees to nomads and JK govt had also established infrastructure and roads in near and cautioned people of Bhaderwah to be united . He informed that a delegation led by him will try to meet the Lt Governor soon and will put this demand before him.
