As we reported on Monday this week regarding the power outage in Chenab Times consulting editor and senior journalist Farid Ahmed Naik’s native village of Halla in Dhara A panchayat of Doda district.
Three hours after the news was carried by Chenab Times, MD JPDCL responded through Twitter and tagged XEN JPDCL Doda and Suprintendenting Engineer Kishtwar Circle to look into this issue.
After one day, our team again tweeted the reminder message that the electricity was not restored on the 13th day.
After our reminder tweet, XEN JPDCL Doda responded to tweet and said, “25kva Halla Xmer. got damaged due to overload and incessant rain and snowfall in a period of 10 days and replaced twice in this period . 25kva Xmer sent for replacement on today. Due to manual carriage of 5kms in tough and hilly terrain Xmer is likely to charge by tommorrow.”
Meanwhile, MD JPDCL also assured us that the issue had been conveyed over the call.
Now the question is, is electricity restored on the ground?
CT’s team contacted Farid Ahmed Naik, and he told us that the electricity had been restored on the 14th day, finally, and the villagers had thanked the department for this action.
