In view of rising drug abuse and illicit liquor cases in Thathri sub division and in compliance with the Chenab Times’ activism mission, Marketing Editor of The Chenab Times, Raja Shakeel, met Deputy Commisioner Doda Vikas Sharma and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom on Saturday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Doda Abdul Qayoom was tipped off to the fact that drug abuse and the sale of illicit liquor are on the rise in Thathri sub division. The SSP assured early action and requested the general public to cooperate with police on this issue to save the area’s future. He said that police are already on the job regarding the “Nasha Mukht” campaign to bust all the anti-social elements.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commisioner Doda Vikas Sharma was informed about a news story carried by The Chenab Times regarding a poor widow who was duped by her relatives, who allegedly took her property. DC Doda also promised an investigation and action as soon as possible.
