WASHINGTON, February 2
US President Joe Biden’s administration introduced on Wednesday the deployment of almost 3,000 American troops to japanese Europe within the coming days amid a standoff with Russia over Ukraine, transferring to protect NATO allies from potential spill over if conflict erupts.
The deployments to Poland and Romania are above and past the 8,500 US troops the Pentagon placed on alert final month to be able to deploy to Europe if wanted.
The strikes purpose to reassure jittery NATO allies within the face of a serious Russian army build-up close to Ukraine. — Reuters
