Two people were arrested in two separate theft cases by Jammu and Kashmir police in the Bhaderwah area of Doda district.
In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, Doda Police said that it has worked out two theft cases involving huge stolen property in 24 hours after the registration of FIRs. While giving details, it said that on the written complaint of one person, namely Arif Sajad (site in-charge of M/S R.K Gupta & Co.) regarding the theft of crash barriers which were installed at various places on the road in the Bhalla area by the firm under project PMGSY JKRDA, an FIR No. 27/2022 U/S 379/IPC was registered at PS Bhaderwah.

A police team headed by PSI Ankush Sharma IC PP Bhalla swung into action and, after getting some clues through reliable sources, the police team arrested one person, namely Mohd Sharif Mir S/O Rehamtulla Mir R/O Shiva Doda. During questioning, the said person admitted his involvement in the theft and made his disclosure. A police team recovered the stolen property within 24 hours.
Moreover, in another FIR bearing No. 30/2022, U/S 379/IPC registered at PS Bhaderwah on the written complaint of one person, namely Nixon Jr. Engineer (STD Bhaderwah) regarding the theft of HT Poles and Rail Poles from the Bhalla area, a police team headed by PSI Ankush Sharma was constituted and, during investigation of the case, one person, namely Mohd. Yousuf S/O Gh. Mustafa R/O Bhella Tehsil Thathri, was suspected to be involved in the theft. During questioning, the said person admitted his involvement in the theft, and upon his disclosure, the stolen government property was recovered within 24 hrs.
Further investigation into the case is going on. Locals of the area have appreciated the efforts of the police as both the cases have been worked out within 24 hours of the registration of FIRs.
The recovery of stolen property and the arrest of accused persons in both the cases was made by the police party of PP Bhalla under the supervision of Insp. Jatinder Singh Rakwal, SHO PS Bhaderwah, Abdul Ghafoor, SDPO Bhaderwah, and overall supervision of Mohd Aftab Addl SP Bhaderwah, the statement reads.
