Continuing its drive to arrest absconders and wanted criminals, Doda Police arrested one absconder on Friday, who was wanted in a murder case and had been evading arrest for the last 16 years.
While giving a statement, the police said that one absconder, namely Prem Lal S/o Roop Chand R/o Sanwara Tehsil Gandoh, was wanted in criminal cases bearing FIR No. 42/2006, U/S 302, 109 RPC and FIR No. 18/2006, U/S 323, 325 RPC, which were registered against him at Police Station Gandoh and challaned in the Court of Law, but he had evaded arrest for the last 16 years. A special drive was launched by the police in which, besides human surveillance, inputs were generated by using their own sources regarding the presence of the said absconder in the area and to track him.
Ultimately, after receiving specific information about his presence, a police team headed by SHO PS Gandoh, Vikram Singh, assisted by PSI Parvez Ahmed, arrested him from Bantalab Jammu and, after arrest, produced him before the Hon’ble Court, where he was sent to District Jail Bhaderwah by the order of the Hon’ble Court.
