• 7:30 AM: Nine security personnel injured in the encounter so far, News18 reported.
• 7:45 AM: Schools are directed to be shut in the Sunjwan area as the encounter continues. Schools within 5 km area of Sunjwan Encounter site including KV Sujnwan, HSS Sunjwan, HS Bhatindi, IDPS Sunjwan, RM Public School, HS Chowadi, Doon School , DS Heritage, Birla open Mind School, British International, GPS Chowadi remained closed: Orders CEO Jammu.
• 8:00 AM: Four militants killed, reports TOI. While PTI quoted Police and said that two militants has been killed.
• 9:00 AM: At least 11 security personnel have received injuries in the ongoing encounter with militants at the Jallabad area of Sunjawan in Jammu. All the injured have been shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

While sources told The Chenab Times that the internet services in the area has been barred. Mobile internet service in South of Jammu particularly in Bathandi, Sunjwan, Bahu, Narwal snapped since 5 am in view of misuse of internet due to ongoing encounter in Sunjwan, Jammu.
2-days ahead of PM’s visit, encounter breaks out in Jammu
Just two-days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu, an encounter has started between militants and security forces in Sunjwan area of Jammu on Friday.
A senior police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that encounter has started and two fidayeens have got trapped where exchange of fire is going on.
He said that Jammu is already on high alert and trapped militants were planning to strike ahead of PM’s visit.
It is pertinent to mention here that PM Modi is scheduled to visit Jammu on April 24.
