After a video from Doda went viral on social media and Chenab Times investigation found that a female teacher of Government Primary School Thanote in Bhagwah tehsil of Doda district lost her cool after a visitor complained about her absenteeism to the Chief Education Officer. The said teacher has been attached to UPS Gadan for further duties for two years.
According to an order issued by Cheif Education Officer Doda—a copy of which lies with The Chenab Times—it reads, “Taking serious cognizance of the irresponsible and malafiide attitude of Zahida Mir Teacher Grade II PS Thanote through a viral video dated 26/05/2022 on the social media with public. Her hot and irrelevant discussion invites an action against her in backdrop of this episode.”
During the investigation on Chenab Times, we accessed the full version of the video, which was about 8 minutes long, and the viral part of that video was only 2 to 3 minutes. CT’s correspondent Naeem ul Haq Wani contacted CEO Doda for confirmation of the case and action thereon. CEO Doda acted quickly, visiting Primary School Thanote and holding a public meeting there.
“As such, she (Zahida Begum) is attached to UPS Gadan for further duties of two years.” She shall be deemed to be relieved with immediate effect,” the order reads.
It further reads, “Moreover, Mr. Rattan Singh, Teacher deployed to UPS Shantiwan on a rationalisation basis, shall report back to PS Thanote for further duties with immediate effect.”
Netizens on social media have been demanding termination of the said teacher for rude misbehaviour. A user wrote, “A citizen who was performing his duty and have rights under Indian constitution, was rudely misbehaved. There should be strict action against the teacher. But she is only transferred to another school.”
