The former Minister of J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, today expressed profound grief and shock over the tragic accident on Sigdi-Balana road, in Kishtwar district, when a vehicle plunged down into a deep gorge, resulting in the death of one passenger.
According to reports reaching The Chenab Times, the deceased has been identified as Safina Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohd. The injured were identified as Irshad Ahmed, Maneera Begum, Razia Begum, and Ruqaia Banoo—all residents of Balana village in Kishtwar district and were shifted to the district hospital in Kishtwar for treatment.

In a statement issued to the Chenab Times, G.M. Saroori extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He prayed for peace for the soul of the deceased and much needed strength for the bereaved family. He described the deceased as a pious soul and was known for his sobriety and friendly nature.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the accident in which one innocent person passed away,” he added.
Saroori prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of those who have sustained injuries in the accident and asked the administration to provide all the required assistance to the injured and their bereaved families.
