Bhaderwah: Man Booked Under PSA For “Hate Speech” On June 9th: Police

A man was booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for delivering hate speech on June 9th following a bandh call in Bhaderwah town of Doda district.

In a statement issued to The Chenab Times, police said that on the 9th of the previous, following a bandh call, law and order problems erupted in the Bhaderwah area as the people, on the instigation of some trouble-creators in Bhaderwah, took out processions. 

The statement further reads, “In the whole incident of law and order, one Adil Gafoor, son of Abdul Gafoor, resident of Bhaderwah, was found to be a mastermind who instigated the processionist and also delivered hate speech and derogatory remarks against a particular community from Jamia Masjid Bhaderwah.”

Being a serious threat to public order, the aforesaid accused person has been booked under PSA and lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu. 

It is to be mentioned here that Case FIR No. 92/2022 U/S 295A, 506, 153A IPC Act & FIR No. 94/2022 U/S 353/332/336/427/147/148/149 IPC Act have also been registered against him at Police Station Bhaderwah.
