A collision involving two double-decker buses on the Purvanchal road in Uttar Pradesh today resulted in eight deaths and close to twenty injuries. According to officials, three persons have been sent to the Trauma Center in Lucknow for treatment because they are reportedly in severe condition.
About 30 kilometres from Lucknow, in the Barabanki area, the collision occurred.
Both buses were travelling from Bihar to Delhi.
Quoting officials NDTV reported, “In the vicinity of the Loni Katra police station, the accident took place near the village of Narendrapur Madraha. Both buses departed from Sitamarhi and Supaul in Bihar for Delhi. There are police and a rescue teams on the spot.”
The CHC Haidergarh Community Health Center has received the injured. Three of the badly hurt have been sent for medical attention to the Trauma Center in Lucknow.
