Mr. Faizan A. Tramboo, Sr. NHM Leader and Former District President of NHM Association Doda, has demanded special compensation and financial assistance to the family of deceased NHM employee Pawan Kumar from District Kathua.
In a press statement issued to the media, Tramboo said that Late Pawan Kumar, age 42 years (ISM Pharmacist), got martyred after sacrificing his precious life in the line of duty towards the nation after he got electrocuted while hoisting the national flag in the hospital building to celebrate Independence Day 2022.
Tramboo said that since Late Pawan Kumar was the only earner in his family, the government should immediately grant special compensation and financial assistance of around 25 lacs in favour of his family on the analogy of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation, to mitigate the loss to a certain extent, even though the human loss is irreparable.
Terming the deceased as National Hero who lost his life while hosting National Flag, Tramboo said that NHM Employees working in Health Department have been putting strenuous efforts to ensure better healthcare services to the people in rural and farflung areas of J&K UT by putting their life at risk since last 15 years without any job security.
Another Senior NHM Leader, Dr Hamid Parray, stated that the deceased Pawan Kumar had been working under NHM since 2008, posted at PHC Haria Chak in District Kathua, with utmost dedication and sincerity, and had proven instrumental to the department through his hard work, adding that the LG-led Administration should immediately intervene in the matter by granting compensation to his family, other than the Ex Gratia as permitted under NHM.
Meanwhile, the NHM Employees of the District Doda have expressed their solidarity with the deceased family in this hour of grief and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
The NHM employees have urged the Honble LG Sh Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary J&K, Commissioner Secretary Health J&K and Mission Director NHM J&K to immediately release special compensation to the deceased family, treating the case in the interest of the nation so that the sacrifice given by NHM employees should not go to waste.
