The topic was about Husn e akhlaq, which means good behaviour or politeness on 21st October 2022. The Molana Ubaid bin Abdul Rashid Bilali described the importance of good behaviour. In the beginning, he started with the example of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who is referred to as a role model by Muslims. I have described the summary of this khutba.
Today’s Khutba can be defined in sections.
The Mandatory Salam
The prophet Muhammad PBUH has told believers to meet each other and start the discussion with Salam—Assalamu Alaikum.
Several hadiths were described which lay emphasis on making Salam mandatory, including Hadith No. 1223 of Al Jamius Sager (International Edition), also some Hadiths from Sahih Al Bukhari and Abu Dawood, some of the books which have the hadiths about Salam.
The Good Behaviour — Husn e Akhlaq
The Molana said that the prophet Muhammad PBUH was a man of good behaviour and that everyone who met him felt that the prophet was most loving and caring for them individually as compared to others. Various hadiths from Abu Dawood, Jamia Tirmidhi, and other books were used to explain good behavior. A hadith which I remember was, “A palace will be prepared in the highest level of heaven for a person who makes their behaviour good.” This hadith is in Jamia Tirmidhi.
The Bad Behaviour
In this section, the bad behaviour of Muslims was defined. As we all know, the teachings of Islam are being put behind us, and most Muslims do not take the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as their role model. His teachings, which are present in the form of hadiths in different books, most of the muslims do not follow them. Some examples from different Hadiths were given about the person who has bad behaviour and what the punishment is for them. The Molana said that when asked who the worst person in the world is, Prophet Muhammad PBUH replied that it is the person from whom everyone distances themselves due to his bad behavior. In another hadith of Tirmidhi, Prophet Muhammad PBUH said that on the day of judgement, the person who has good behaviour will be close to me and the person who has bad behaviour will be far away from me. The closeness and farawayness of a person to Prophet Muhammad PBUH is important for everyone because those who are close to Prophet PBUH will be rewarded with heaven and those who are faraway from Prophet PBUH may get the strictest punishment.
Conclusion
The conclusion of today’s khutba was that Muslims should adopt the teachings of their role model, Prophet Muhammad PBUH, and make their behaviour good as much as possible.
