Three of the most wanted drug peddlers were apprehended and a heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, police claimed on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued to The Chenab Times, the Police Party of Police Post Khellani Doda is led by PSI Aman Sharma, in charge of Police Post Khellani, under the supervision of Inspector Arun Parkash, SHO. PS Doda laid a naka on NHW-244 near Khellani for checking and frisking of vehicles and pedestrians. During checking, one Swift car bearing registration number JK19-3900 was intercepted for checking purposes. On questioning, the driver disclosed his name as Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Anwar Abad Doda, and on his personal search, a heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. His other associates, who were also travelling in the same vehicle, disclosed their names as Yasir Ahmed alias Thopa, son of Abdul Majid, resident of Sadiq Abad Doda, and Irfan Khan, son of Ghulam Hussain Khan, resident of Astan Mohalla Doda. On their personal search, a heroin-like substance was also recovered from the possession of both of the associates. In this connection, case FIR No. 263/2022 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at PS Doda, and an investigation of the case has been set into motion.
“It is to be mentioned here that trio drug peddlers are most wanted as there were a number of inputs of their nose-dive involvement in drug peddling besides getting other youth involved in drug consumption.” Among them, Yasir Ahmed, son of Abdul Majid, a resident of Sadiq Abad Doda who is also known as Thopa, was the main supplier of drugs in Doda town. “The recovery of contraband substances and arrest of the drug peddlers were made under the overall supervision of Jaswant Singh, Dy. SP Hqrs Doda,” the statement added.
Doda Police had launched a massive hunt against these drug peddlers, and sources were activated to apprehend them. Ultimately, today, police succeeded in apprehending them with drugs. Adding further, Doda Police said that this is the most successful operation of Doda Police under Operation SANJEEVANI, in which these most wanted drug peddlers got apprehended.
