Ghulam Nabi Azad, a prominent Indian politician and chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party has refuted the reports that claims his rejoining in Congress. He was previously a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) party but left the party in August 2022 after being with it for over four decades.
There were reports published by the news agency ANI that Azad was planning to rejoin the INC party. However, Azad strongly refuted these reports and clarified that he had no intention of rejoining the party. In a tweet, he stated that he was “shocked” to see the story and that it had been “planted” by a section of leaders in the INC party in order to “demoralise” his leaders and supporters.
Azad has had a long and distinguished political career, having served as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and as a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India’s parliament. He is known for his leadership skills and his ability to bring people together to work towards a common goal. Despite leaving the INC, he remains a respected and influential figure in Indian politics.
Speaking to The Chenab Times, DPAP vice chairman GM Saroori refuted the rumours of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s rejoining Congress and said that they were planning to file a complaint against news agency ANI for the fabricated story. “There will be black snow if Azad rejoins the Congress,” he said.
Saroori’s use of the phrase “black snow” to emphasise the unlikelihood of Azad’s return to Congress suggests a strong conviction that the rumours are false.
“Congress leaders are doing this propaganda against Azad Sahab because their morale is down now,” Saroori added.
