A shop has been gutted in a fire incident reportedly due to a short-circuit in Bathri village of Kahara tehsil in Doda district, on Saturday.
An eyewitness told The Chenab Times that a garment shop caught fire due to a short-circuit at about 6 p.m. near Bathri’s main market, resulting in the loss of the shop.
The Chenab Times correspondent also talked to shop owner Manzoor Ahmed Butt, son of Ghulam Mohd Butt of Bathri, who said that the garments had been completely turned into ashes and that he had suffered a loss of around Rs. 5–6 lakh.
Speaking to the Chenab Times, in-charge police officer Police Post Kahara Mushtaq Ahmed also confirmed the incident.
The Bathri is located on the Thathri-Kilhotran road in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
