Wikipedia English website goes down due to technical error, back after 15 min

Wikipedia’s English version website experienced a server error on Tuesday, causing the site to be down for approximately 15 minutes.

At around 10:15pm IST, users attempting to access the website were met with the message, “Our servers are currently under maintenance or experiencing a technical problem. Please try again in a few minutes. See the error message at the bottom of this page for more information.”

According to The Chenab Times team, the issue was quickly identified and resolved. The website was back up and running within 15 minutes.

Wikipedia’s English version is one of the most widely used language versions of the website, with over 5.5 billion page views per month. The website is run by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization that operates on donations and grants.

The Wikimedia Foundation has not released any official statement regarding the cause of the server error until this report is being filed.
