Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda district have successfully arrested a thief and recovered stolen property just 24 hours after a theft incident occurred at the bus stand in Doda.
According to a written complaint received by the police from Mohd Shafi and Masood Ahmed, who are local residents and shop owners at the bus stand, unknown thieves broke open the locks of four shops and stole mobile phones, electronic items, hardware items, and cash.
Upon receiving the complaint, Doda Police quickly formed a team under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs. Doda to investigate the incident. The police team conducted searches in various areas of Doda town and used their sources to track down the thief, according to a statement received by The Chenab Times. After obtaining leads, they apprehended the accused, Mohan Singh alias Manu, a resident of Bhella in Doda district. On questioning, Singh disclosed the location of the stolen items, and the police were able to recover stolen mobile phones and other electronic items, along with some cash, from his possession.
The police have registered a case, FIR No. 08/2023, under relevant provisions of law at the Police Station Doda, and the investigation is ongoing. The swift action taken by Doda Police serves as a reminder of their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the community.
