Nayi Basti, a residential township in Thathri area of J&K’s Doda district is sinking day by day, causing damage to various houses and a mosque in the area. The local residents are in distress and have expressed their emotions, and are protesting against the administration for their failure to provide rehabilitation or take any action.
According to the residents, the situation arose after a person carried out construction on private land alongside the National Highway 244, which is located below the township. The residents are now in pain and are demanding immediate action from the authorities.
In response to the situation, the Sub Divisional Magistrate Thathri along with revenue and police officials visited the site and assured the residents of full support and action against the contractor. The officials also pledged to take all necessary steps to provide assistance and rehabilitation to the affected families.
The situation in Nayi Basti is a matter of concern and the authorities are expected to take swift action to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents. The residents are hoping that the officials will keep their promise and provide the necessary assistance to mitigate their suffering.
