In a tragic event, a 23-year-old Russian national, Nykita Krylov, was found hanging in his room at a homestay in Manali, India. According to the police, the cause of death was suspected to be suicide and there were no indications of foul play. The Russian Embassy is yet to officially confirm the incident and further proceedings will be carried out after receiving their confirmation. The police have approached the victim’s mother and she has verbally advised them to hand over the body to Krylov’s friend who was accompanying him in Manali.
Krylov had reached Manali from Goa on January 31 with his girlfriend, Alisa Lazareva, who had traveled to India to meet him. The couple was staying in a private cottage in the Jagatsukh area. In a statement to the police, Alisa said that Krylov had been suffering from a borderline personality disorder and had been mentally disturbed in the past few days. She added that he was heavily smoking and taking medication, and had fought with her, which led her to leave the homestay and shift to a hotel in Manali.
Alisa found Krylov hanging from the noose when she went to the homestay to see him on Friday morning. She immediately informed the police and the body was taken into custody and sent to the Community Health Centre in Manali. The post-mortem will be conducted after the official confirmation from the Russian Embassy. The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
