A government employee in Doda has been arrested for posting hateful comments on social media. Amrik Singh, a Class-IV employee in the office of Chief Education Officer, posted comments on his Facebook account that were deemed to be inflammatory and could have led to a law and order situation in the district.
The Doda Police took swift action and arrested Singh to prevent any potential problems. The police party, led by Inspector Arun Parkash Sharma, SHO PS Doda, produced him before the Executive Magistrate Class 1st in Doda, who subsequently sent him to the District Jail Bhaderwah under preventive detention.
In a statement, the Doda Police warned citizens that they are closely monitoring social media activities and will take strict action against anyone found to be spreading hate or hurtful comments that could hurt the sentiments of any community.
This incident once again highlights the need for responsible social media behavior, particularly among public servants who are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct. The police have urged citizens to use social media responsibly and refrain from making any comments that could incite violence or hurt the sentiments of any community.
