In an unfortunate incident that took place earlier today, a 12-year-old boy named Zabir Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi and resident of Honda in Tehsil Kahara District Doda, sustained injuries after falling from a matador bearing Registration No. JK06B 0369. The matador was en route from Gandoh towards Thathri when the incident occurred.
Sources told The Chenab Times that the incident took place at around 9:00 am when the matador had reached near Donadi on Thathri-Gandoh Road. It is reported that the boy was deboarding from the matador along with other passengers when he lost his balance and fell from the door, resulting in serious injuries.
The driver of the matador, identified as Shamim Ahmed, immediately stopped the vehicle and rushed the injured boy to the trauma center in Thathri for treatment. The local authorities were informed of the incident and reached the spot to investigate the matter.
“The boy is currently undergoing treatment at the trauma center in Thathri, and his condition is said to be stable,” an ABABEEL volunteer told The Chenab Times.
This incident serves as a reminder of the need for proper safety measures to be implemented in public transportation, especially in rural areas where such incidents are not uncommon. The authorities have assured the public that they will take necessary steps to ensure the safety of passengers traveling in such vehicles.
