In DPAP only merit will prevail: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad embarked on a three-day tour of the Doda district, reiterating the party’s core agenda of peace, unity, and development. Azad emphasized his commitment to the progress and improved connectivity of the Chenab Valley, which encompasses Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts.

During interactions with party workers and various delegations, Azad gained insights into the ground situation and received valuable feedback directly from the party’s grassroots members.

Azad firmly advocated for political parties to transcend regional and religious divisions, rejecting divisive politics. He staunchly believed in upholding secular values as the sole hope for maintaining the integrity of the country and its regions. Azad pointed out that his political approach was solely focused on development, citing his tenure as Chief Minister when he spearheaded the construction of hospitals, colleges, and roads across the expansive Doda district.

Azad urged party workers to intensify the ongoing membership drive, ensuring inclusivity and broad participation in DPAP’s pursuit of peace and development. He underscored the party’s commitment to meritocracy, asserting that positions within DPAP would be awarded based solely on an individual’s hard work and loyalty.

Reflecting on the G20 summit, Azad expressed disappointment that it was not hosted in Jammu. While he acknowledged the opportunity it presented for Kashmir, he suggested that the Government of India should have organized a separate meeting for G20 members in Jammu as well, thereby boosting the region’s economy and tourism.

Azad’s visit served as a platform for DPAP leader Saddam Nabi Azad to express his dedication to serving the people of his hometown, Bhaderwah. He vowed to prioritize the creation of employment opportunities for highly educated youth who struggle to find suitable jobs.

Notable attendees at the event included Vice Chairman G.M. Saroori, General Secretary Abdul Majeed Wani, Working Committee Member M. Aslam Goni, Provincial Vice President & Working Committee Member Naresh Gupta, Sr Leader DPAP Saddam Nabi Azad, Iqbal Kohli DDC, Secretary Farooq Shikari, Zonal President P.R. Manhas, Distt President Asif Gattu, and others.
