Doda Police Crack Two Theft Cases, Recovers Stolen Property Worth Lakhs in Bhaderwah and Gandoh

In a commendable display of swift action, the Doda Police have successfully resolved two theft cases and recuperated stolen property worth lakhs of rupees in the areas of Bhaderwah and Gandoh.

The initial incident was reported at the Bhaderwah Police Station by Aqib Iqbal, son of Javed Iqbal and a resident of Dandi Bhaderwah. A complaint was lodged stating that unknown individuals had forcibly broken into his shop during the night of 21/22.05.2023, stealing several mobile phones. Following the complaint, a case was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah under relevant sections of the law.

With the registration of the case, the Doda Police sprang into action, forming a team led by PSI Ankush Sharma from the Bhaderwah Police Station. Utilizing available clues and technical assistance, the team apprehended two suspects, who subsequently confessed to their involvement in the mobile phone theft. Acting on their disclosure, the police recovered 16 mobile phones along with accessories, valued at approximately Rs. 2,17,234/-. Furthermore, the possibility of these individuals being connected to additional theft cases is currently under investigation.

In a separate incident, another case (FIR No. 46/2023) was registered at the Gandoh Police Station based on a complaint filed by BDO Chilli Pingal. The complaint outlined the theft of a motor from a shredder machine allocated to Block Chilli Pingal, which was to be transported for installation. In response, the Gandoh Police constituted a team headed by SHO PS Gandoh Inspector Vikram Singh to investigate the matter diligently.

After exhaustive efforts, the team managed to apprehend two suspects identified as Binyamein, son of Mir Ali, and Shabir Ahmed, son of Ali Hussain, both residents of Chilli Balla Gandoh. During questioning, the suspects admitted their involvement in the motor theft. Following their disclosure, the stolen motor, valued at Rs. 2.00 lakhs, was recovered from their possession.

The investigation into both cases is currently underway, as the Doda Police continues its efforts to gather further evidence and determine the potential involvement of the suspects in additional thefts. The successful resolution of these cases stands as a testament to the dedication and proficiency of the Doda Police in maintaining law and order in the region.

The Doda Police urge anyone with information related to these cases or any other criminal activities to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigations.
