In a tragic incident on the Jammu-Kishtwar highway, a vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Raggi Nallah in the Doda district.
The devastating accident that occurred at Raggi Nallah in the Doda district has claimed the lives of four individuals and left the driver injured. The deceased have been identified as Radha Devi, wife of Om Prasad from Tesna, and Raj Kumari, wife of Ram Ratan from Bresu Bhalla, Rtd. Dr VP Kotwal, son of Late Amar Nath from Tesna Bhalla, and Om Parsad Kotwal, son of Amar Nath from Tesna Bhalla. The injured driver has been identified as Aslam, son of Ab Gani from Dhansal Jammu. The ill-fated vehicle, bearing the registration number JK06 6054, was en route from Kishtwar to Jammu.
“The accident took place in the evening when the vehicle bearing the registration number JK06 6054, was en route from Kishtwar to Jammu, veered off the road near Raggi Nallah. The tragic incident resulted in the loss of Radha Devi, Raj Kumari, Rtd. Dr VP Kotwal, and Om Parsad Kotwal, all of whom were pronounced deceased at the scene,” a Police official told The Chenab Times.
The driver, Aslam, sustained injuries in the accident and was promptly provided with immediate medical aid by the local emergency services. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of his injuries remains undisclosed at present.
